7 months (and a trip to the White House)

We always enjoy a stroll on the South Lawn and this year the White House garden tour included a special addition of the kitchen garden (with some impressive rhubarb).

It's smells like Thanksgiving

I walked out of my apartment last night and all I could smell was Thanksgiving - that smokey sweet flavor of fallen leaves and wood burning fireplaces. It's my favorite holiday - no presents, no fuss, just lots of food and family all bundled together (and the Thanksgiving Day parade, of course).
