Vintage ironstone

My mother gave me my first piece of vintage ironstone this year - a large white oval platter aged to perfection. I like to think those nicks, brown spots and lines show the years of hearty meals shared around a family farmhouse table (rather than from life in a confined city apartment like it is living now). The sturdy, yet refined platter is one of my favorite pieces.
